Birthdays

Iris turned 9 in May and Finn turned 1 in June.  We had good, mellow birthdays.  I used to do big birthday parties for Iris every year but as time goes by and more kids arrive birthdays are usually private little affairs at our house.  It is good that way.  I’m sure every once in a while we’ll do bigger parties for the kids, but for now keeping it simple works for us!  Iris chose this year to take a friend to the Mall of America where we we went on rides and out to eat.  The timing was perfect because her friend Bella was in town so they had a joyous reunion to boot.
